“When the finishing touches started going in, the tiles, the cedar, the details, that’s when we really started to get a glimpse of how beautiful it was going to be.”

The final reveal, Christmas Eve, was unforgettable. After months of covered concrete floors and protective sheets, walking into a complete home with polished details was the ultimate gift.
“Brendan made it really special. On Christmas Eve morning, we walked in and everything was perfect. It was the best Christmas present.”

Overcoming the Challenges

Like any build, there were hurdles along the way. But with Design Builders’ support, challenges were turned into opportunities, and solutions were always found.
“Nothing was ever a problem with Brendan, just a challenge he’d find a solution for. He took away the stress and always came back with options. We completely trusted him.”

The finished home reflects the couple’s personalities, lifestyle, and the natural environment surrounding it.

Their master suite is a standout favourite: “The view is stunning, and I love my wardrobes. Our ensuite has a glass-walled shower that looks straight out to the bush, it’s just fantastic.”

Another feature that has exceeded expectations is the “circulation space”, a central gallery-like hallway. Initially questioned by others, it has become one of the most-loved aspects of the home.
“Once the lighting went in and we hung our artwork, it all made sense. The space just works beautifully.”

The home’s flow also fits seamlessly with daily life. A private mudroom-style entrance, a contemporary kitchen designed around their needs, and sheltered outdoor areas create both comfort and functionality.
“It really is a home built around us, from the way the rooms flow, to the kitchen, to the ensuite. It’s better than we ever imagined.”

A Special Location

Set against a backdrop of conservation land, the home feels like a private retreat. Native bush and birdlife surround the property, with kiwi calls echoing across the boundary at night.
“It feels magical. The bird life is incredible, and to be living somewhere where we can hear kiwi is really special.”

With bush tracks, orchard spaces, and a creek on the property, the lifestyle extends far beyond the walls of the home. Roaring fires in winter and outdoor dining in summer complete the picture.
