The first step in creating a home built around you is to capture a snapshot of what you want: your likes, loves, dreams, thoughts, tastes and ideas. To help you do that, we'd like you to simply fill in a few sections. You can write, include doodles, magazine clippings, links to websites and anything you want that helps get your thoughts across. Right now, there are no rules, no tick boxes or final decisions.
There are five sections for you to think about. Firstly provide us with a few details to start the online form. Or download a printable version of this form here.
Remember, this is simply the start of the whole exciting process.
For example, "We love contemporary looks" or "We're into rural charm". You could say "We really enjoy exposed concrete" or "We've got great views, so let's have some big windows on our world". A boat park. Maybe you love strong colours, or subtle tones. How about the bedrooms? The living space. And if you want the worlds biggest deck with an outdoor kitchen to match, tell us. What's non-negotiable about your home?
Simply start typing in the box. Feel free to attach images to help explain your ideas.
This is where you can let your imagination go and let your dreams fly. In other words, what are the extras that you’d put in if you could. Maybe you would say a fish filleting zone, a big barby area, home cinema, Olympic sized pool, helicopter landing pad. Hmmm. Or maybe something more modest: a spa pool, a bigger garage, an under-stair kennel for your best friend. Tell us what you’d include if you could?
While it’s important to know what you’d love to have in your new home, its good for us to understand what you don’t. If you don't want a fireplace, tell us. If you hate exposed concrete, here's your chance to say so. If spiral staircases make you dizzy tell us. If you can’t stand loud 70's wallpaper, neither can we. But tell us anyway. We’d love to know what you hate, or at least don't want.
Building beautiful one-off homes is also all about the way we use your section. So please tell us about it. Is it sloping, north-facing, looking south or neither. Do we need to clear a few trees first. What's the access like. And if you want to, give us a quick sketch to show how it all looks to your eye.
Everyone knows that a unique, one-off home is a significant investment opportunity in more ways than just dollars. You may prefer not to indicate your proposed level of investment at this stage or then again you might. It’s up to you, however we fully understand, that at some stage, before we go too much further, the dollars have to make sense.
