Entry numbers were up on last years despite the economic downturn, also highlighting the value and importance of the awards.

Design Builders achieved two Gold Awards (80% above industry standard) and one Silver (65% above industry standard) to the three entries submitted. A huge thank you to the owners for the privilege of entering their homes, and to the Design Builders team of subcontractors….Well Done!!

Of the two gold award-winners further judging will take place to decide the National House of the year finalists for 2009. Perhaps another national winner to be uncovered to follow our unmatched Hawkes Bay record of 1999 & 2003 Category winners for all of New Zealand.

We have held a Eco benefits presentation evening and have been inundated with requests for another.Enquiries have been from all over NZ ,Wellington,Hamilton and even Christchurch.

We also presented the Eco living package to the Hastings District Council Building Inspectors and officials. Design Builders have a strong relationship with the HDC and are always striving for continuous improvement in all sectors of design and building.
