The Design Builders Eco Display Home was first opened to the public on the
15th August 2009.

This home showcases a logical and practical model of energy efficiency, utilising technology, passive design and the elements in a residential home of stand-out quality.

With the hot debate on climate change constantly hitting the headlines, Design Builders saw another chance to lead the way with innovation and excellence.  

Increasing costs of living and the impact on the enviroment have driven the need for reduced energy consumption and reduction of our carbon footprints. This home will astound you in its simplicity and efficiency.

Hawke’s Bay has amongst the highest recordable sunshine hours in the world and it seemed almost irresponsible not to maximise it’s use.
